Spring Volleyball

Spring Volleyball with BAC and VAA!!!

The teams are co-ed and are open to grades 2-12. All skill levels are welcome!  We are always looking for new players interested in starting a new sport so tell your friends!

The spring seasons run from early March to mid-May.

BAC and VAA spring volleyball is a community sport and the focus will be to help players learn volleyball skills, how to work on a team, and to have fun while playing. Our philosophy is to promote a healthy lifestyle by engaging in a fun and rewarding sport.

The players are grouped into three age groups and not by ability or skill level. The players will be on diverse teams with a variety of skill levels. The volleyball program is open to boys and girls grades 2-12 with any or no skill level.

We need as many and all participants as possible! This program would not be here without all of you. We are also looking for paid referees and volunteer coaches. No experience necessary for both! Contact us if you're interested in either and have any questions.

Games and practices usually run about an hour each and will be held twice a week. Tournaments are at the end of the seasons.

We have 3 Divisions:

MINORS (2nd-4th grade)

- Minors usually play between 6:15-8:15 pm during the week and on Saturdays between 9 am-2 pm.

JUNIORS (5th-7th grade)

- Juniors usually play between 6-9 pm during the week and on Saturdays between 9 am-2 pm.

MAJORS (8th-12th grade)

- Majors usually play between 6-9 pm during the week and on Saturdays between 9 am-2 pm.

Days and times of games and/or practices will depend on the total number of teams and available gym time.

Contact either Cathy Murray cathymurray0725@gmail.com or Jason Vath jason.vath@vaasports.org for more information!

Registration is now open though vaasports.org

Winter hitting with Coach Keeney starts January 7th at 6:30 for first group and 7:30 for the second group.  This is every Monday and Thursday until tryouts for the high school in March.   You have an excellent instructor in Coach Keeney so I hope that you all work hard every minute you are there and give him your undivided attention. Learn to Prevent & Recognize Concussions

The BAC has implemented a new background check and concussion certification process for all coaches and directors.  As it relates to the background check policy and process, please review the information at https://www.trustedcoaches.org/about/policies/ for more details.

The state of Minnesota has mandated that organizations, like the BAC, certify all coaches and officials. Get certified or notify BAC of your certification: Concussion Proof of Certification

A concussion is a brain injury caused by a bump or blow to the head that can change the way your brain normally works. Even what seems to be a mild bump or blow to the head can be serious.

To help ensure the health and safety of young athletes, CDC developed the Heads Up: Concussion in Youth Sports initiative to offer information about concussions—a type of traumatic brain injury—to coaches, parents, and athletes involved in youth sports. The "Heads Up" initiative provides important information on preventing, recognizing, and responding to a concussion.
